Terms and Conditions

  • Thank you for choosing The Cambridgeshire Hand Engraver.

By placing an order, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. These are in place to ensure a smooth and professional experience for all parties.

    • 2.1 Placing an Order

Orders are currently accepted via email contact@perrylewis.co.uk.

Please note: Orders are not accepted via phone calls, SMS/text messages, or other social media platforms

    • 2.2 Payment Terms

    Non-Trade Customers:
    • Full payment is required before the item is returned or dispatched.
    • Items will be held until full payment is received.

    Trade Customers:
    • Items may be returned before payment, depending on agreed terms.
    • Payment may be invoiced and settled at month-end.

Payment is accepted by bank transfer (details provided at confirmation). I reserve the right to retain possession of any item until full payment is received.

    • 2.3 Order Changes & Cancellations

    • No cancellation fee if cancelled before work begins.
    • Full cost applies once engraving has started.

Changes submitted after initial instructions may cause confusion. While I will try to accommodate, I am not responsible for omissions caused by conflicting or last-minute updates. If a job is cancelled after the item has been sent to me, the customer is still responsible for paying return postage.

    • 3.1 Suitability

Customers must ensure their item is suitable for engraving. I reserve the right to decline any item deemed unsuitable or at risk of damage.

If an item is posted and later deemed unsuitable for engraving, the customer will be required to pay for its return postage.

    • 3.2 Liability & Risk

All items are handled with care, but engraving is a permanent and delicate process. By proceeding, you accept the inherent risks. No liability is accepted for damage unless caused by my proven error.

    • 3.3 Pre-Existing Damage

If flaws are visible, I will notify you before work begins. I cannot be held responsible for damage caused by pre-existing weaknesses.

    • 3.4 Loss of Value

Engraving may affect resale or sentimental value. This is the customer’s responsibility to consider beforehand.

    • 3.5 Compensation for Damage

In the unlikely event of damage caused by my error, I will assess fairly. I may offer a partial refund or alternative resolution. Liability is limited to the cost of the engraving service paid.

  • Refunds cannot be issued for changes of mind once work is complete. In the event of an engraving error, I will:

    • Attempt to correct it where possible.
    • Offer a partial refund if correction is not feasible

    • 5.1 Turnaround Time

Turnaround times vary based on workload and job complexity. Time estimates are indicative only and may change daily. If delays arise, you will be notified.

    • 5.2 Collection & Meetings

    Non-Trade Customers:
    • Collection is not permitted unless agreed.

    Trade Customers:
    • Collection may be arranged by appointment.

    • 5.3 Shipping

    • Items are shipped using insured and tracked Special Delivery as standard.
    • If no item value is provided, insurance will be set at the minimum rate.
    • Shipping costs will be included in your final invoice.
    • Items are dispatched only after full payment is received (unless otherwise agreed).

I am not responsible for courier delays, losses, or damages.

    • 5.4 Lost or Undelivered Shipments

No refunds or replacements are offered for uninsured shipments. If an item is lost and was insured, I will assist with the claims process.

    • 5.5 Uncollected Items

    • Items not collected or paid for within 30 days of completion may be considered abandoned.
    • I reserve the right to dispose of or recycle such items after reasonable attempts to contact you.

    • 6.1 Nature of Hand Engraving

All engraving is done by hand. Variations in depth, spacing, or alignment are part of the unique result. I am not liable for dissatisfaction if the result matches the agreed style or sample.

    • 6.2 Sample Work

Sample engravings can be provided at standard rates and you must provide your own material.

    • 7.1 Data Protection

Your personal details are collected only for order processing and communication. Data is securely stored and never shared. You may request deletion or access to your data at any time.

    • Confirm or clarify engraving instructions
    • Provide updates or arrange collection
    • Follow up on completed work

  • 8. Invoicing & Late Payment

    • Invoices are due upon issue unless otherwise agreed.
    • Persistent non-payment may result in refusal of future services.

I reserve the right to withhold items until payment is received.

    • 9.1 Resolving Issues

If you have a concern, please contact me within 7 days of delivery or collection. I will make every effort to resolve matters fairly.

    • 9.2 Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be handled under the jurisdiction of the English courts.
